Ablaze Church
Big Plans For 2010 PDF Print E-mail

What an exciting time at Ablaze Church.  We are in the analysis stage of our growth plan and at this time we are awaiting the results of a market research study to determine if an Open Arms Child Development Center would be a good option for our church.

Open Arms Institute is a program within The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) that couples quality child development with a church, usually a new church, to provide an excellent child care option for the community while meeting the spiritual needs of those children, their families and the larger community.

We have considered several parcels of land in the NE Broken Arrow area and once we complete the analysis phase, the parent congragation, The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Tulsa, OK., will be prayerfully considering this or other initiatives in an effort to "Share the Gospel with compassion" and be a beacon of light in the community.

For more information on this initiative or other questions you may have regarding our current worship services, please contact us using the link on this web page.  We appreciate your prayers for this endeavor during this exciting time.

One thing that seems to be missing in our world today is character. With politicians, superstars and CEOs seemingly having no moral character, we might say character is an endangered quality. Yet, people give evidence of strong moral character in different ways every day all across this great country of ours.

Down-to-Earth

In March of 1944 Sgt. Nick Alkemade was in a British bomber over Germany. After dropping its bombs, the
plane turned towards home and was suddenly hit by shells from a German fighter. The pilot ordered the crew to bail out. Alkemade reached for his parachute and found it was being consumed by flames. Facing death by fire or a painless fall, he chose the latter. He jumped from the bomber without a parachute.

Almost Missed It

I just returned from a brief vacation, or rather, time of solitude with my wife and a few new friends.  As we began our journey from Broken Arrow, OK. to the Cumberland Mountains of Southwest TN. we were filled with anticipation of a much needed time of peace and quiet, not to mention some new ideas and inspiration that was to be provided by our friends there.   Over half-way through the week, just following my recovery from the long drive, I already found my thoughts drifting toward the drive home and the eminent return to routine.  Where was the peace?  How disappointed I
